Maria – Senior Portrait Experience – Chatsworth High School

This is fairly new to me… We usually shoot weddings, babies, and family portraits. I was surprised when I found out that Senior Portraits aren’t big at all in Los Angeles. In most other states Senior Portraits are HUGE!

When I first talked to Maria about doing her high school senior portraits, she though that I wanted to do the usual 5 minute head-shot session for the yearbook, and I’m sure she was wondering why I would ever want to get into that. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong about your yearbook photo… They usually look really nice. But that’s about it. There’s nothing special to them.

So I decided on shooting at Orcutt Ranch. This is actually where I had my wedding, and I just love the location, and the diversity it offers. Maria totally rocked the photo-shoot and was absolutely game for anything. In the end, we wound up with some great portraits, and a great learning experience for me. We went with her friend FLO. I’ll be writing about that in a little bit… But for now, here are the shots that I got.. I think they really turned out great.
